Acharya Judith Simmer-Brown

Acharya Judith Simmer-Brown, Ph.D., is Distinguished Professor of Contemplative and Religious Studies at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, where she has taught since 1978.  She has been a Shambhala Acharya since 2000, and teaches internationally. Marty Janowitz has been a student of mindfulness, awareness, and Buddhism since encountering his teacher Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche at the age of 20. Arawana Hayashi first saw Vidyadhara Chogyam Rinpoche in the summer of 1974 when her improvisational dance company auspiciously toured through Boulder. Dan Hessey

Pasquale Verdicchio has taught film, literature, and cultural studies in the Department of Literature at the University of California San Diego since 1986. Ernest Padilla was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  His parents were migrant farm workers, and, as one of seven children, he also did his share of picking cotton, grapes, prunes, etc. in Tulare, CA growing up. Acharya Holly Gayley is an Assistant Professor of Buddhist Studies at the University of Colorado in Boulder, having completed a Masters at Naropa University in 2000 and Ph.D. at Harvard University in 2009.
